About the project

Sales of the wedding edition support the protection of the Laurisilva laurel forest on Madeira (QUERCUS.pt) and its birdlife (SPEA.pt). The forest is the largest surviving part of an ancient Tertiary forest, covers 20% of the island and is a UNESCO World Heritage site.

As the Portuguese BirdLife International partner, SPEA protects endemic birds that depend on the laurel forest.

Planting and habitat restoration

Planting native species and removing invasive plants that push the original forest out.

Environmental education and work with the local Madeira Friends community on sustainable events.
